  1. Log in to email.

  3. The marker is highlighted in yellow color.

When you are sending an urgent email message or time-sensitive message to your team, let you let the recipients know the messages that need their attention. Add a heading to the subjects in a mail you need to highlight. Check below to know how to highlight in gmail.

  1. Go to Gmail.
  2. Click compose.
  3. Add the recipients.
  4. In a subject field Add a descriptor like [URGENT].
  5. Add an exclamation mark before the descriptor.
  6. Compose your message and click Send.

 

Label an email as urgent/important

Label the email to categorize the message as urgent/important. You can add and remove the important label in Gmail.

Steps to label the email as urgent/important

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. Go to settings.
  3. All settings.
  4. Click the labels tab.
  5. Go to the labels section.
  6. Click the new label.
  7. Enter a label name such as URGENT/ IMPORTANT.
  8. Click Create.

Auto-label email as urgent/important

Email can be prioritized for some people, and Gmail makes them filter and label those emails.  The message you receive from the specified sender is automatically labeled as urgent or important.

  1. Go to Gmail.
  2. Find the search box.
  3. Hit the Show search option.
  4. Enter your email address in the form field.
  5. Click Create filter.
  6. Click the check box to apply your label.
  7. Choose/create a label URGENT / IMPORTANT.
  8. Hit the Create filter.

Sending an important email between business people is confidential. Suppose you want to know if your email is read by the receiver or not. Read requests are sent to every recipient in the To and Cc fields but not recipients in the Bcc field, mailing list, and aliases. Steps to enable Gmail to read receipts are given below.

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. Click compose.
  3. Compose your email.
  4. Click more options.
  5. Find read receipt.
  6. Send your message.

 

 

 

Return a read receipt

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. Check your emails.
  3. If a sender requests a read receipt Click Send receipts
  4. To send the receipt later Click Not Now.

 

 

Sort mail by priority

Gmail has the option of sorting and prioritizing emails for the user. Email is split into three sections: Important and read, starred, and everything else.

Turn on Priority Inbox

  1. Go to your inbox.
  2. Click settings.
  3. Find the “inbox type” section.
  4. Select Priority Inbox.
  5. To customize the priority inbox setting Click customize.

 

 

6. Choose the inbox sections you want to show.

7. Save changes.
